How PIR Motion Sensor Light Bulbs Work
Please read our tips before buying and using Greenic motion sensor bulbs:
Question 1: Each time the light bulb is installed, it can be lit, and after being extinguished, the light bulb can no longer trigger the infrared induction function and cannot be lit?
Answer: It is likely that there are other light sources around the light bulb, and the surrounding environment is bright, resulting in the light sensing device inside the light bulb to be activated, so it cannot trigger the light bulb to light up, you can test the function of the light bulb in a dark environment.
Question 2: Why can't the infrared sensing function of the bulb be triggered?
Answer: Excluding the above reasons, we recommend that when installing the light bulb, the top infrared sensor of the light bulb should be oriented towards the orientation of the sensor, the sensor has an induction range of 120°,and there can be no obstacles to block the sensor, because the osmosis of the infrared sensor is very poor(such as glass lamp shade, plastic lamp shade, cloth strip, etc.). If the Angle of the lamp is not easy to adjust you can install a converter cap to solve the Angle problem.
Question 3: Why is the light bulb insensitive or constantly activated innocently?
Answer: To rule out the reasons for the above problems,1. we need to pay attention to the height of the installed bulb(no more than 8ft),2: Infrared induction light bulb is controlled by using the thermal infrared radiation generated by the human body. When the temperature around the human body is close to that of the human body or other electronic devices emit similar thermal infrared radiation around the human body, the induction light bulb will not be able to distinguish the phenomenon of induction is not timely or constantly flashing. Finally, if we encounter any lamp problem, Please contact Greenic, we will do our best to solve the problem for you, when you test the bulbs function, be sure to do it in the dark environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this motion sensor bulb turn off automatically so I never worry about leaving a light on overnight?
Yes. The bulb features a built-in auto-off timer that switches the light off approximately 30 seconds after motion stops, so you never have to remember to flip a switch before bed or when leaving a room.
Is this bulb safe to use in a child's bedroom or nursery with no fire risk?
Absolutely. The 9W LED bulb produces no flame, no heat-prone surface like a halogen, and no fumes, making it a much safer alternative to candles or hot bulbs in a child's sleeping space.
Will the dusk-to-dawn sensor prevent the light from turning on during the day and wasting power?
Yes. The integrated photocell activates the motion sensor only below 18 Lux (essentially dusk or darker) and deactivates above 30 Lux, so daytime motion will not trigger the bulb.
Does the bright 5000K daylight output create glare that could hurt eyes at night?
No. The bulb delivers flicker-free, eye-friendly illumination that is gentler for nighttime navigation in dark hallways, basements, and bedrooms without harsh glare.
Can seniors or mobility-limited family members use this light without fumbling for a switch?
Yes. The PIR motion sensor detects movement from 10-13 feet away at typical mounting heights, so the light turns on automatically when someone enters the space — no reaching for switches in the dark.
Is this bulb a good replacement for night lights in a senior's hallway?
Yes. Many caregivers install this in hallways and stairways to provide bright, automatic lighting that helps prevent nighttime falls without requiring the person to remember to turn a light on.
Will this motion light help my elderly parent get to the bathroom safely at night?
Yes. The 10-13 ft PIR detection range and auto-on feature illuminate the path the moment they step out of bed, reducing the risk of trips and falls on the way to the bathroom.
Is this bulb safer than leaving a lamp on all night for a child who is afraid of the dark?
Yes. The motion sensor only activates the light when the child moves, then shuts off after 30 seconds, so the room is lit exactly when needed without the fire risk or energy waste of an always-on lamp.
How does this motion bulb compare to plug-in night lights for hallway safety?
Plug-in night lights stay on all night at low brightness and can block outlets, while this motion bulb screws into an existing socket, delivers 800 lumens of full daylight on demand, and auto-shuts off to save energy.
Compared to battery-powered motion lights, is this bulb more reliable?
Yes. Because it draws power from the socket and uses a 25,000-hour LED, you avoid the dim output, dead batteries, and frequent replacements that come with battery-powered motion lights.
Is this bulb safer than candles for power outage lighting?
While not designed as an emergency light, this LED bulb is far safer than candles — no open flame, no hot wax, no smoke, and no risk of tipping over if you need light during an outage.
What if the motion sensor activates in the middle of the night and wakes my light-sleeping child?
The 30-second auto-off keeps the light on only briefly, and the 5000K output is bright but flicker-free. Many parents find short, automatic lighting less disruptive than fumbling for a lamp in the dark.
Could the bulb overheat or become a fire hazard if it stays on for long periods?
No. The 9W LED runs cool compared to incandescent bulbs, and the auto-off timer ensures it is rarely on for more than 30 seconds at a time, minimizing any heat buildup.
How do I install this motion sensor light bulb?
Simply screw the bulb into any standard E26 medium-base socket, then turn the switch on. The bulb will activate automatically when motion is detected in low-light conditions and shut off after about 30 seconds of no movement.
How do I reset or adjust the motion sensor sensitivity?
The motion sensor is factory-calibrated with a 10-13 ft detection range at a 6.8-8 ft mounting height. There are no manual sensitivity dials; for best performance, mount the bulb at the recommended height with a clear line of sight to the area you want covered.
How do I know the dusk-to-dawn sensor is working correctly?
In a dim room or at dusk, walk past the bulb and it should turn on. In a bright room or daylight, the bulb should stay off even with movement, because the photocell deactivates the sensor above 30 Lux.
Will this bulb fit my existing lamp or fixture?
The bulb uses a standard E26 medium screw base, which is the most common household socket in the US, so it fits most lamps, ceiling fixtures, porch lights, and garage fixtures.
Is this bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
No. This bulb is not designed for use with dimmer switches. The motion sensor and dusk-to-dawn photocell require a constant power supply, so use it with a standard on/off switch only.
What is included in the box when I order this product?
The package includes the specified number of motion sensor LED bulbs. No additional hardware, hubs, apps, or remotes are required — everything you need is in the bulb itself.
Is this motion bulb safe to leave plugged in and on at all times?
Yes. The bulb is designed to remain in the socket with the switch on. The photocell and motion sensor manage all activation automatically, so there is no risk from leaving the switch in the on position.
What is the lifespan of this bulb and what warranty is included?
The bulb is rated for 25,000 hours of use, and it comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty plus 24-hour after-sales support for any questions or issues.
How is a motion sensor light bulb different from a regular LED bulb?
A regular LED bulb simply turns on and off with the switch, while this motion sensor bulb has a built-in PIR motion detector and dusk-to-dawn photocell that automate when the light turns on and off, even when the switch is left in the on position.
